Anterior Sternal/Thoracic Inlet
Myofascial Release

Purpose: To release myofascial restriction on the anterior chest wall

Procedure: With the patient lying in supine, sit at the head of the plinth, just to the side of the patient. Place one hand under the patient’s cervicothoracic junction, covering C7-T2, and place your other hand on the anterior-superior thoracic wall covering the sternoclavicular joints, suprasternal notch, and upper costochondral junctions. While your hand under the CT junction provides a firm supportive foundation, allow your top hand to apply very light compressive and caudal force. Apply the force for at least 3-5 minutes or until you feel a softening of the fascial structures.
