Scapular Non-Thrust Manipulations
Purpose: To improve general scapular mobility.
Procedure: The patient is in sidelying with the cervical spine in neutral. The therapist stands in front of the patient with their chest in contact with the patient’s shoulder. The therapist cups the inferior angle of the patient’s scapula using the web space of the mobilizing hand while the other hand is placed on the superior portion of the spine of the scapula. Keeping the hands in these positions on the patient’s scapula, the therapist can facilitate scapular movement in the indicated directions.
