Gluteal Muscle Myofascial Release
Purpose: To release myofascial restriction of the gluteal muscles
Procedure: With the patient lying on their unaffected side place the top leg in hip flexion, adduction and slight knee flexion, stand in front of the patient. Apply a downward force of the upper leg through the distal femur while stabilizing the pelvis with the more cranial hand. Maintain a stretch and stabilize the pelvis for 3 to 5 minutes or until a release is felt.
